Chatelain is a term taken from Middle English and Middle French meaning the caretaker or governor of a castle. We see ourselves as caretakers of the homes entrusted to us. We take this role seriously.
Our mission is to greatly improve the rental experience of both home owners and home renters. We create confidence and trust in home owners that their homes will be taken care of in their absence. We establish a strong positive relationship with home renters, providing high quality, well maintained homes for their living needs, and a process by which we keep them so.
Our focus is on military families as we know first-hand the needs and concerns surrounding this demanding lifestyle. We provide services to single family homes, and a few small multi-family properties, in an area roughly 20 miles from Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. But as a property management company we also understand and are aware that there is a general public out there whom are also in need of our services and we at Chatelain Property Management are here to accomodate all.
Chatelain Property Management was formed in July 2003 by Dennis Schroader Sr., a retired Army officer. During his 22 years of service in the Army , Dennis experienced many relocations and lived as a tenant, a home owner, and an absentee landlord. He created this company to improve upon those experiences for owners and renters alike.
Our tenants chose to use our services because we have a genuine concern for helping people. We take care of our tenants. We work with them to help make the transition of moving an easier one.
Welcoming Pet Owners
Most of our homes have pet-friendly owners. Our goal is to find responsible pet-owners for these homes. To help ease the mind of our homeowners we require that all potential tenants create a pet resume for the animals they intend to keep in our rental properties. By request, we will send you an example of a pet resume along with the pet policy/agreement when considering your application.
